What’s the best app for learning investing and making stock purchases and tracking your portfolio? Where can you buy stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrency and talk about it with a unique investing community? I know from experience that when you start investing it can feel like a very lonely place. That might sound strange, but it’s true when you invest with a big institution like Fidelity. There is no feedback loop to tell you that you’re doing the right thing. There is no community to answer your questions.

You’re essentially in a void with your own thoughts, figuring out what works. A sense of community can be extremely helpful with investing. I know for sure that the personal finance community on twitter and the various blogs I read, were instrumental in validating my thinkinking. Perhaps you’re using this blog or others like it and whilst I’m happy to try and answer your questions, it’s not exactly the same as being in a room of like-minded people, all heading in the same direction.

However, forums can lead people on extreme ventures when it comes to investing. You only need to look at the Gamestop Saga on Reddit/Robinhood to see this. Therefore it’s crucial to find a trusted and informed forum. One where people are commenting on responsible investment strategies. Which Exchange traded funds people are buying for example.

The Drawback Of Diversification

This is made even more complicated by the extra commodities that have grown popular in recent years, due to the hot topics of fiat currencies and decentralised financial networks. Yes I am talking about cryptocurrency and other things you might buy to hedge against inflation (e.g. gold).

Whilst I personally havn’t bought into cryptocurrencies, experienced investors are putting say 1% of their networth into cryptocurrencies. Perhaps there is a fine balance between exploring yourself to risk and reward in this respect. One day we will find out. However, the bottom line is that you should educate yourself before buying into any asset and a forum can be a good way to do just that.

It can also be ‘fun’ or profitable to buy into individual stocks. The drawback with this is that by the time you start buying your Index Funds with Fidelity (like I do), your cryptocurrency on Coinbase and your individual stocks, you’re talking about 3 different and separate platforms. So, it can be tricky to keep track of your portfolios and net worth!

Getquin – A Community App For Buying & Tracking Investments

You might feel like you are out in the cold when it comes to finding an investment community. Maybe, you want to diversify into some assets but don’t want to overcomplicate things, then I have a solution for you. I’ve found one of the best apps for learning investing via both educational material and peer-to-peer interaction. It’s called Getquin.

The Best App For Learning Investing Getquin 1

Getquin was created in March 2020, with the mission to help all kinds of investors. Not only to help them manage their investments but also to enable them to make informed investment decisions by offering a trusted platform to exchange with friends, family and verified investors.

Getquin aims to be the best app in the class for learning about investing. They want you to be able to feel in control of your money when it comes to investing. You can utilise their social network to get feedback and inspiration from a global community of investors, follow the strategies of your friends or use our tools to build your first portfolio from scratch.

How I’ve Used Getquin

Getquin is actually designed, built and run from Berlin. Speaking to some of the Team over in Germany I can tell you that, I really got the feeling that they’re trying to create something very real and genuine with their app.

After downloading the Getquin app it was really clear that the app has really been designed to be one of the best apps for learning investing. To them it’s not just about Increasing the number of trades for certain stocks, like other apps might do. Instead there’s definitely an educational feel to the app.

There’s also some useful features where you can track a watch list of ETFs or individual stocks etc. you can flick between them to change the visual view of the performance over time. Even without making a purchase you can put together a sample dashboard.

  • Getquin stocks
  • Getquin Investment Tracker

It’s also really easy to look at what regions, assets, positions and sectors your portfolio is invested in. Along with your dividends earned should you have any. You can invest and track stocks, bonds, mutual funds and ETFs as well as P2P, Real estate property, commodities and 120 currencies in both app or web browser. Soon you will also be able to benchmark your portfolio performance vs other investors, stocks and indices.

Getquin are currently working to support synchronizing your portfolio with a number of brokers such as Fidelity Investments, Vanguard, Charles Schwab, Coinbase so you have added visability of all your assets in one place. At the present time importing your trade history is possible.

Cool Features

It’s also really easy to ask a question about a specific stock you might be interested in. Perhaps you are between investing in something like the S&P vs the MSCI world index? Then you can ask people what they think. You can also follow them or like their comments just like Twitter. You can see some examples of how this works below, in a sneak preview of the new Getquin dark mode.

Therefore, if you don’t feel quite ready to take the plunge, you can risk-free track some mock investments or a mock investment portfolio. When you are new to investing this type of feature can help you get to grips with what you will see when you do invest.

What Can You Get Out Of Getquin?

I’ll admit my approach to investing is extremely simple. However, I do appreciate that not everyone is as boring as I am when it comes to investing. This is why I wanted to raise awareness of Getquin! Should you be feeling a little isolated, or maybe you just want to buy and track some different assets then it seems like this app is a pretty unique solution for that.

It’s so easy to download and you can actually use the apps and it’s forums without actually buying anything! So there’s actually no commitment in terms of money needed from you. I just used my google profile to sign into the app and I was away within minutes. Asking questions and tracking stocks. So there’s really no harm in testing the waters just to get a feel for it and see what like-mindset people are saying or investing in.

Ultimately, if you are looking for the best app to help you with learning investing then Getquin definitely ranks very highly. Should you want to buy individual stocks, ETFs or even cryptocurrency and track them all in one place, then Getquin is also a great solution.

Please Note: When investing, your capital is at risk.
