This hotel is in a great location in Valencia, just off the main square of Valencia Cathedral. If you are looking for an inexpensive but good quality hotel, then L’Esplai Valencia Bed & Breakfast is where you should stay.

This very comfortable B&B can be booked for a price in the region of £86-90 per night. Book directly on the website and you automatically get breakfast included.

Breakfast At L’Esplai B&B

  • Freshly squeezed Valencian orange juice
  • Fresh coffee
  • Tasty bread & croissants to start
  • Followed by something like mini eggs laid over Iberico ham (see picture below)
  • Then natural yoghurt, with various seeds and fruit (e.g. kiwi).

The Rooms In L’Esplai B&B

Despite being in the middle of the city, the rooms were perfectly quiet and protected from the noise of outside and other guests. You could even go for a siesta at around 2pm-4pm and not be awoken by the city noise.

We stayed in the Double ‘El Carmen room’ which a very decent size and the bathroom was almost as big as the bedroom.

One added bonus I particularly enjoyed was the little balcony just off the bedroom with a small table and two chairs.

  • Tasquita Del Mar – Very relaxed tapas bar, a place to enjoy Agua De Valencia.
  • San Tommaso – On a night, this Italian is packed out. Lunchtime is a better time to go.

Staying at L’Esplai was a real pleasure and I genuinely feel it’s probably the best hotel in Valencia, Spain, so I wanted to separate this out from the main Valencia post.

Service was fantastic and the hosts were very keen to make sure you enjoyed both breakfast and the sights Valencia has to offer. City maps and very detailed advice on what to do and the host was always on hand.

Ultimately, the fantastic location of the hotel is a real winner. Combine that with a good nights sleep and a nice breakfast and you get a perfect stay in Valencia.
