How To Get To Parque Natural de la Albufera

There are two main ways to get to the Parque Natural de la Albufera. One is to buy a tour for upwards of £35, through a website such as Viator. The other is to hop on a bus from the city centre. The second option is how we chose to get there.

It was the much cheaper option at €1.50 per person, each way to El Palmar. You can catch the number 25 bus from a stop located at Porta de la Mar (par) – Navarro Reverter.

El Palmar is the final stop. It’s also the location of the boat tour around the lagoon, which will cost you just €4 per person.

The journey takes about an hour. However don’t worry, the bus is modern and air conditioned and most of the journey is fairly scenic.

El Palmar

The location of the boat tour is El Palmar. It can be a little underwhelming when you arrive as it’s a very small and quiet town with a few restaurants, and that’s about all.

After an hours bus ride, you may be hungry. You can stop at the Restaurant Albufeira for some light refreshments. This restaurant has a pleasant view over some fields, it’s air conditioned, has friendly service and decent food.

Parque Natural de la Albufera Lagoon Tour

I have left some visual instructions below of how to find a boat tour. I wanted to do this because, as like I say, El Palmar is not the most charming of places. You may be a little hesistent about walking down a random street, with no boats in sight and paying for a ticket.

Final Thoughts

I hope this brief guide has helped you. I found it difficult to navigate El Palmar as there seemed to be a lack of guides and even google maps struggled a little with finding Parque Natural de la Albufera.
